Embroidered Dress for the End of Summer

You know being someone who writes and blogs, whenever life turns into a garbage fire, I’m driven to write again. So, if you’re seeing this, and you feel like the spark for writing has been dying out and life feels like one big grey cloud, write! Take all of that energy that’s dragging you down and put it towards that blank piece of paper or empty Word document.
So, without further ado, a last hurrah to summer!
Today I am showing an embroidered rose dress (similar dress styles from Farm Rio) that was a special summer project! This was a dress that I bought second hand and was a maxi length that dragged on the ground. What did I do? I removed a MASSIVE section of the dress and sewed up any loose fabric to make sure no strings start to unravel. It now ends at around my knees.
I love this dress, it’s light and flowy. The stitching is lovely; the roses are quite bright and colorful. There’s also a bit of tiny lace trimming in a few places on the chest, waist, and skirt. It's cotton and washes well by hand, but I don't think I'd risk washing this is in a washer. The fitted waist is also a nice touch but isn't uncomfortable. In one word, this dress would have to be called romantic!
For my shoes, I have this pair of red and black sandals. It took me quite a while to find a red sandal I actually liked this summer, and these are very comfortable. I also love the shade of red these shoes are, they're not very bright, but darker red.
Well, that about sums it up, fall, here we come!
