Blue, Black, and White for Summer

Oh boy. It’s definitely been a minute for sure. 2025 into 2026 has been…chaotic. To say the least. Work has been busy since last fall, and I was on the hunt to move out of my apartment. So many months later, a thousand work things, and a NEW apartment, I am back on the blog! Given that I haven’t been here for a bit I do have quite a few lovely pictures from the past few seasons, so if you see posts where the backgrounds look different that’s why.
So, to start off today, I have a relaxed outfit to combat the early summer heat. I know, I know, black doesn't seem like it could work in the summer but give it a chance! The right materials make all the different. A black satin skirt (similar skirt from Nordstrom) has become an essential piece in my closet for the last few months, and I was pleasantly surprised that it went well with the blue and white striped shirt for this look. This is a classic piece that is light, comfortable, and is not as hot as you’d think in the heat.
Enter the striped blue and white shirt (this was unfortunately a thrift find but here is a similar style)! From bikini cover up to office button down, this shirt works beautifully with this outfit. It’s a light cotton so it doesn’t feel too warm in the heat. The minimal blue and white stripes also add some contrast to the black skirt. Under the button up is a classic black tank, that actually almost feels like a compression top and washes amazing.
For accessories, my Adida Sambas are still going strong and pair well with the black clothing pieces. My usual black H&M bag (similar shoulder bag) remains ones of strongest handbags for almost any occasion, and finally my blue necklace. I’ve taken a liking to smaller beaded necklaces and have a few in this style, but the blue goes the best with jeans and neutral outfits.
That’s it for today, looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!
