Hints of Red

White t-shirt with chili pepper iron-on, blue denim shorts, black shoulder bag, silver earrings, red sneakers.

Today is a casual day so we’re going out in jean shorts. These are my favorite pair of jean shorts from Abercrombie. They are unbelievably comfortable in the Curve style, are a lose fit with a longer inseam. I have noticed a very small amount of shrinking from the wash but nothing too concerning. The dark wash also goes with a variety of colors and tops.

The real stand outs for this outfit are the shoes and the shirt. I had been wanting a different color of slim sneakers, similar to my Sambas but something more colorful. Brown was what I first thought of, but I felt that I wouldn’t know what to pair those with as the seasons changed for winter and spring. So here we are with these red Vans. I’m absolutely crazy about these, they are super light, and the red is quite pigmented! I did use a suede protector for these and so far, they’ve been safe from any water damage for the last few months. I would say they do lean towards smaller sizing; I'm a size 5-5.5 and these are size 6 and fit me perfect.

The shirt (link) is a really simple basic from Aritzia but it’s a thick cotton blend t-shirt that has some stretch. I will say that the sizing can be pretty snug, so I went up to a medium when in t-shirts I’m usually an extra small. For this shirt I’d been really wanting a shirt with a chili pepper on it (I’m considered quite spicy amongst family and friends), so I bought a chili pepper iron-on and attached it! I’ve gone ahead and linked the iron-on but there are hundreds of iron-ons from the same company (Peach Pie Patches), and attaching it to the shirt was very easy if you'd ever want to give it a try. I’ve washed the shirt three times now and so far the chili pepper hasn’t shown any signs of coming off. Usual shoulder bag (similar bag from Amazon), and my earrings are a thrifted find.

Until next time!
